Every superhero has a lair of some sort. Superman has his Fortress of Solitude. Batman has his Batcave. Hawkman has his lair as well. It's never really been acknowledged, but it's been there since the beginning of the Silver Age. In the most recent Hawkman series, Hawkman Vol. V (2018-2021), Rovert Venditti brought back Hawkman's spaceship and made it into such a lair that even Batman would envy.
Ever since Hawkman entered the Silver Age as a Thanagarian, he has had a spaceship in many of his stories. These spaceships have played an important role in many of his stories. Some lasted for years, while others only showed up briefly. Before we get into the main topic, here's a quick rundown of the spaceships that Hawkman has used in the past.
DC Comics' solicitations for December 2025 have been released and here are the issues that mention Hawkman and Hawkgirl or have either of them on the cover. Sadly, still no news of any kind of a series for either hero so the wait continues. While we wait, let's pick thru the mountain of Bat-related comics and see if we can find where the Hawks will turn up.
My comic book dividers for my Hawkman comics!
A few people have asked me about my comic book dividers that they see in my Hawkworld videos. There's nothing to it really. I just took some contruction paper, printed out small pics of the number 1 issues, posted them on the end, measured the paper to fit the shelves and that's it! Helps me keep my comics in order and easy to find.
In 1989, comics fans were introduced to a new Hawkwoman in the Hawkworld series by Tim Truman. Shayera Thal was unlike any Hawkgirl/Hawkwoman we had ever seen in the 50 years since her debut in the 1940s. This Hawkman was brash, hot-tempered, and usually hit first before she thought to ask questions. She definitely kept Katar Hol/Hawkman on his toes and they often clashed over their very different ways of approaching a problem. She disappeared from comics in 1996, returned briefly in the mid -2000s before her death in the Rann-Thanagar War. Even after 20 years, Shayera remains one of the fans' favorite characters in the history of Hawkgirl/Hawkwoman.
I finally dove into the DC Finest books and I've got my first two; Hawkman Wings Across Time and Team-Ups Chase to the End of Time. They are looking good on the shelf! There are five more books on their way and I can't wait to read these stories again!

My copy of DC Finest Hawkman Wings Across Time finally arrived today and I LOVE it! Every Hawkfan should pick this up!
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the famous, or infamous depending on your point of view, Crisis on Infinite Earths (COIE). Since then, there have been several crisis events to restructure the DC Universe. While it may be all and good for DC Holy Trinity of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, the "lesser" heroes of the DC Universe have often forgotten and made even more complicated than before.
But then we got some confirmation (thank to Matt B. Lloyd for the heads up!) that Hawkman WILL actually be in the issue. Here is a quote from the PopVerse article.
Last month, DC announced a new event called DC K.O, a tournament-style competition where heroes go up against each other to determine who will go up against Darkseid. Or something like that. The 32 heroes in the draw were announced and Hawkman (no Hawkgirl or Hawkwoman) was announced. Personally, I'm kind of burnt out on heroes against heroes and big crossovers but since Hawkman is involved, let's follow it and see what happens. The full draw was released and we found out who Hawkman's 1st round opponent is.

It appears that Hawkgirl (played by Isabela Merced) will be returning for the Superman sequel. The sequel is titled Superman Man of Tomorrow and the announced release date is July, 9, 2027.
In the current barren age of no Hawkman comics series, it's always appreciated when we get something, anything, that features Hawkman and Hawkgirl. And the last couple of weeks have given us not one but two Hawkman collections. However, the repeated releases once again reminded me of what we continue to wait for. It's not hard for a Hawkman fan to be a Debbie Downer, and this is another of those times.
