New Hawkworld Social Media: Threads

A new social media site took off yesterday, and I've wasted no time in adding Hawkworld to it. Threads by Meta is a bit different because I was able to bring over all of my followers on Instagram and invite them to join me so I didn't have to start from scratch like other sites. Hawkworld is already on Facebook and Instagram so might as well! If you have an Instagram site or just getting started on Threads, come give Hawkworld a follow! Address below!

Happy anniversary to all the Hawkworld followers and members across the world! It's been seven years since Hawkworld took off! What started as a step into the unknown has turned into something that became bigger and wider than I ever could have imagined when I started. It has challenged me to learn more about the hero I've always loved and followed, and there have been several surprises along the way. These are in no particular order, just writing as I remember.

Over 250,000 Views!

I started the Hawkworld blog almost five years ago. The site hit a quarter of a million views today. It may not be so many compared to other sites, but it's been fun building a site that can help fans discover and understand their history. Soaring on!

Hawkman Review 2021: A Year of Cameos, Flashbacks, Teases, Deaths, and Waiting

The Year 2021 was a typical between-series year for Hawkman; cameos, flashbacks, unfulfilled teases, panel fillers, several deaths, and solicitations that delivered nothing. Hawkgirl had a bit more this year in the Justice League series, but Hawkwoman made only one appearance. Hawkman also made appearances in two DC animated films but both were massive disappointments. Below is a summary of all the appearances the Hawks made this year.

Hawkman Day!

I'm starting a new monthly event called Hawkman Day! Hawkman does not have his own comic right now, so I want to have a day for fans to share their favorite art, figures, cosplay, comics, and anything else that has to do with Hawkman, Hawkwoman, Hawkgirl, Hawkworld, their villains, etc. The 9th of every month will be the day! Starting at 12:00 a.m. on the ninth, come see the posts on Hawkworld Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram! Share your favorite stuff with your friends and followers on your favorite SNS sites. Let's keep the Winged Warriors soaring!

Five Years of Hawkworld

The first group head photo of Hawkworld / Art by Joe Prado

Five years ago, on January 15, 2016, I started the Hawkworld group on Facebook and the Hawkworld account on Twitter. It was just on a whim, to be honest. I had been bouncing around between groups and sites, looking for Hawkman, and it suddenly dawned on me to just start my own group. I had a bunch of ideas and things I wanted to do, and I didn't want to invade someone else's group, so I started Hawkman Winged Warrior.

Tim Board Highlights of Four Years of Hawkworld!

Four years of Hawkworld! On Wednesday, January 15th, it will be four years since I decided to start a Hawkman group. In 4 years, it's expanded to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and a blog. It's been an amazing 4 years! There have been many things that I never dreamed would happen when I started. This is a purely personal list, but here are the top moments for me since I started Hawkworld.

Celebrating Hawkworld's 4th anniversary: Luke Edd

Hawkworld started 4 years ago on January 15, 2016. Since then, I've met many awesome fellow Hawkfans on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and on this blog. One of those fans is Luke Edd. Actually, Luke is one of the people who inspired me to start Hawkworld in the first place. Luke created maybe one of the very first Hawkman blogs back in 2008. "Being Carter Hall" covered Hawkman and Hawkgirl comics and news for many years. I enjoyed reading his articles and he just may have been the one who planted the idea in my head to start Hawkworld. Soon after I started Hawkworld, Luke joined the group and shared many things with Hawkfans over the last few years. To help celebrate Hawkworld's 4th anniversary, Luke shared his love for the character and graciously allowed me to share it with anyone else so here it is!

Solving the Mystery of Thanagar Prime and Shayera Hol of the Justice League Series

In Scott Snyder and James Tynion IV's recent Hawkworld storyline in Justice League No. 14-16, we were introduced to a Shayera Hol who we did not recognize, Katar Hol aka The Savage Hawkman from the Death of Hawkman series, and a Thanagar we have never seen before. Since the Hawkworld storyline came out in December, Hawkfans have been wondering who these characters are. There has been a lot of debate about it. However, writer James Tynion IV graciously answered some questions on Twitter today, so with those facts, I'll try to break it down and explain who these characters are. There is no complete explanation, and there will still be some debate, but that's half the fun,  right? So, let's fly in and see if we can break it down.

Maybe you think Hawkman is lame...

Maybe you think Hawkman is lame. That's fine. We are all entitled to our own opinions. It's not my mission in life to change your likes/dislikes. What I do hope for is that people will see the enthusiasm for the hero at Hawkworld and see him differently. That's all.

Review of Hawkworld 2018

What a difference a year makes! At the end of last year, Hawkman and Hawkgirl had no comic, but they had been brought back in Scott Snyder's Metal series and we were anxiously waiting for news of a comic. Let's look back on the amazing year the Hawks had in 2018!
