Hawkman's Thoughts on Democracy and Tyrants

For those comics fans who are proclaiming that the Absolute Hawkman is "the Hawkman we always knew he was." I don't think they know Hawkman. (From Hawkworld Vol. 2 No. 32, March 1993) Writer: John Ostrander.

"Take away democracy once in this country and it will never come back. You only set an example for other tyrants who will take your place...
...unless you continue to rule to keep them away.
Either way, all you offer is a tyrant."

 THIS is Hawkman.

DC Solicitations 2026 April for Hawkman and Hawkgirl

The solicitations for April 2026 are out. Hawkman gets no mentions, and Hawkgirl appears once in the solicitations, but they do appear on a few covers. However, being on a cover does not mean they are actually in the comic, so put these comics on your pull list at your own risk.

10 Years of Hawkworld

Happy anniversary, Hawkworld! January 15, 2026, is the 10th anniversary of the beginning of the fan group called Hawkworld. It's hard to believe that it's been ten years. When I began the group on Facebook 10 years ago, I made it a personal mission to build Hawkfans a place that was active, informative, and fun. What a journey it has been.

Review of JSA #15

Despite being on the cover, Hawkman and Hawkgirl were not in the comic. Wonder Woman of course got a good action scene but the Hawks were nowhere to be found. Just in case you were planning on getting the comic. Not a good start to 2026, DC Comics.

The Origins of Hawkman and Hawkgirl (YouTube Video)

I've seen numerous articles and videos explaining the origin of Hawkman and Hawkgirl over the years, so I decided to create my own and share my take on their origin story. I've drawn on my experience of following Hawkman for almost 50 years, with a focus on the origins that Gardner Fox and Robert Venditti provided us. Subscribe to the Hawkworld YouTube channel if you can! Many thanks!
