On this day in Hawkworld History: December 1, 2015

On December 1, 2015, Falk Hentschel made his first appearance as Hawkman on Flash (Season 2, Episode 8) in the episode "Legends of Today." Hentschel would appear in an episode of Arrow (Season 4, Episode 8) and then seven episodes of Legends of Tomorrow (Season 1, Episodes, 1-3, 10, 13-14, 16) for a total of nine episodes. This makes him the live-action Hawkman with the most appearances to date!

Soar!: Board Review of Hawkman No. 6

Exploration and Discovery: this has been the theme of the Hawkman series by Robert Venditti (writer) and Bryan Hitch (artist) from the beginning. Since the first issue, we have been getting one piece of the puzzle at a time as he travels through time and space, looking for clues about himself and a way to stop the Deathbringers coming his way. We received the news that Hawkman is going to discover his true origin in issue no. 7, but the issue No. 6 that came out today (Nov. 14) had more than its share of discoveries. It appears that Venditti is setting us up for some major developments in future issues. Here's a review of issue No. 6 so if you haven't read the issue yet, go pick it up at a comic store or get it digitally and come back afterward. Don't spoil it! Go read it first!

Gardner Fox Picture from Hawkman Day

Greg Fox, the grandson of Gardner F. Fox, sent me this picture of the creator of Hawkman for Hawkman Day! He was also kind enough to say that Mr. Fox would have loved my Hawkman gallery! Very honored.

Flash Comics No. 2 Cover Remake by Prentis Rollins

The first comic to ever feature Hawkman on its cover was Flash Comics No. 2 (cover date: February 1940, actual release date: December 15, 1939). The artist was Dennis Neville. I've always wanted to see this cover redone in the current style of Hawkman so I asked Prentis Rollins a few months ago. I am very happy with the incredible result!
