On this day in Hawkwoworld history!
October 2nd, 1973

Hawkman resigns from the Justice League! And Green Arrow's true feelings about Hawkman are revealed.

In Justice League of America No. 109, Hawkman announces that he has received orders from Thanagar and that he and Shayera must return to Thanagar immediately. Surprisingly, the one most shaken up by the news is Green Arrow. When Eclipso suddenly appears, Green Arrow asks that he and Hawkman be teamed up, which surprises even the almighty Batman.

During their outing, Green Arrow keeps throwing insults at Hawkman, like "Ol' Feather-face" or "Buzzard Beak," which Hawkman just shrugs off. Later, it is time for Hawkman to leave and Green Arrow is nowhere to be found. Black Canary finds him staring off into space and...crying?! This is the kind of relationship I wish the writers at DC had established; an odd couple always bickering with each other, but deep down, they truly care for one another. It's a shame that it got all hateful and ominous.
