It's been five years since Hawkman last had a regular series. We finally got our wish this year and the new series is coming out in June. And we have a top team in Robert Venditti and Bryan Hitch. No matter how good they are, if the fans don't support it, it will be canceled. Hold off on that Starbucks Caffe Latte Tall for one day a month and put the book on your pull list! Let's get behind this book and make Hawkman #100 a reality!

They have released the cover to Hawkman No. 1 (released date June 13th) and Hawkman No. 2 (release date July 11th). If this is any indication, the series is off to a great start! 

Hawkman No. 2 Cover Released!

The cover to Hawkman No. 2 was released last week! The art by Bryan Hitch reveals Hawkman in a Egyptian setting, giving us another clue to the direction Robert Venditti will be taking Hawkman in the new series. The new series begins June 13th, and No. 2 is scheduled to be released on July 11th!

Hawkworld's Review of Metal

The Metal series is over. What a mind-tripping odyssey it was. It’s almost been exactly a year since we first heard about Scott Snyder’s bombastic idea of a series that centered on the metals, mainly the Nth Metal, of the DC Universe. As a Hawkman fan, I’ll have to admit I was less than optimistic about the event, and the last thing I wanted to see was the element that gave Hawkman his powers being given to the omnipresent Batman. After seeing my Tweets voicing my negative thoughts about the series, Snyder was kind enough to send me a message, saying that he was bringing back Hawkman in a huge way, to trust him and support the series. I'll admit it wasn’t easy. Hawkman has really gotten the short end of the mace these last few years, and I was starting to wonder if it was worth following DC Comics at all. But I followed the series, thinking that if Hawkman didn’t come back through this series, then maybe it was time to move on. But knowing me, I would probably still have been around. I love the character too much to just give up.

Hawkman No. 1 by Robert Venditti and Bryan Hitch will be released on June 13th! To celebrate the event, the Twitter/Facebook Hawkworld will send a copy of the first issue to ten lucky winners! Rules are as follows:
1. For Facebook: Post "Hawkman Comic Contest" in the Facebook Contest Thread. You will be given a number. Five winners will be randomly chosen with the Random Number tool on Google on April 9th, at 9 a.m. 
2. For Twitter: Retweet the contest post with #HawkworldComicContest. Five winners will be randomly chosen with TweetDraw on April 9th, at 9 a.m.  
3. Winners will be announced in a post on the group page and on Twitter. 
4. Each winner will receive a private message and asked to send Hawkworld their name and an address within 24 hours. If there is no response by April 10, 9 a.m. EST, another winner will be chosen. Addresses will not be shared.
5. The comic will be sent from Altered Egos Comics & Games, Orange Park, FL.
6. No purchase is necessary. Hawkworld will be responsible only for the cost of the comic book and shipping.
