Isabela Merced Wants a Hawkgirl Movie

Superman is wraping up its run in the theaters and it appears to be the success that James Gunn and company were hoping for. The critics and fan reviews for the movie were pretty good, so we could start seeing some green lights for other projects to start showing up. Isabela Merced's role as Hawkgirl was pretty limited, but she did make an impression with the fans with what she was given to do. The question now is what will come next.

Escaping The Hawkgirl and Green Lantern (John Stewart) Mess

Ever since the early 2000s, the relationship between Hawkgirl (Shayera Hol) and Green Lantern (John Stewart) has been a hot topic of debate among Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Green Lantern, DCAU, and comics fans in general. DCAU fans who grew up watching the Justice League cartoon have been wanting for them to get back together, while older, more "traditional" fans (Hawkfans) like myself want to see Hawkgirl back with Hawkman. What's the best way forward for the Hawkfans and DCAU fans? With Hawkworld groups on Reddit, Facebook, Bluesky, and Blogger, I run into this debate often. At the risk of pissing some fans off, I thought I would offer my thoughts and a solution to the whole conundrum.

CBR: This Controversial Green Lantern Corps Romance Needs to Be Avoided at All Costs

The fan backlash against Hawkwoman (Shayera Hol II) apparently being paired up with John Stewart continues in another great article by Timothy Blake Donohoo. Shayera recently has appeared in the Green Lantern Corps series by Jeremy Adams and Morgan Hampton. When Shayera went to the Green Lanterns for help after Thanagar was destroyed, it was apparent that she has some sort of history with John Stewart. No details have been given, but John Stewart appeared to dread seeing her again. Shayera seemed a bit flirty with him in a couple of scenes. Donohoo focuses on John Stewart's position in the DC universe, or lack of one, but also reminds readers how great the Hawkman series by Robert Venditti was for the Hawks and how it brought them back together.
