Hawkman/Hawkgirl Comic Tier List 2026

 

Here's my updated Tier List for Hawkman/Hawkgirl comics. The top five series are absolutely essential for comics fans. The stories and the art are top-notch. The best of the best. The A-ranked series are also very good, and I definitely recommend them. The art in every series is the best out there, but the writing suffers a bit for various reasons. I may have had Vol. 4 up in the S-rank back in the day, but it hasn't aged well. The art remains the best, though. 

The B and C comics are fair, and I think every Hawkfan should still pick them up if they can find them. Hawkgirl Vol. 1 really suffers from bad art, and the writing is also a bit lacking. The D-ranked Hawkgirl Vol. 2 was just really bad. The plot was meaningless and ridiculous, and the banter between the characters during fights was especially cringeworthy. The recent Hawkgirl short story gave us a glimpse of Hawkgirl again, but nothing else really. 
Hawkgirl and Hawkwoman are amazing characters with an awesome background and powerset, but so far they have not been blessed with good writers and/or art. Someday, I hope they get a team who can really build up the characters and give us a series that belongs in the top tier.
