*Hawkman is a warrior who has reincarnated on Earth and many other planets across time and space. If he learned one fighting technique in each life on all those planets, and if he only remembered only half of them, that would still make him one of, if not the most skilled hand-to-hand combat fighter in the world.
*When Hawkman fights, we have occasionally seen him use his wings as a method of defense and even to attack. He has complete control of his wings, so that would give him an extra set of arms to attack and defend with.

*In some stories, it has been implied that Hawkman has been wearing the Nth metal for so long that it is now in his body. Hawkgirl showed the ability to glide even when she didn’t have any Nth metal on her. It would often help them heal quicker if it is in their system.

*In the current universe, Shayera and Carter are completely committed to each other and deeply in love. There is no doubt or hesitation about their destiny to be together. It is a choice they both made millions of years ago. There is nothing creepy or domineering about their love for each other.

*Kendra, on the other hand, is completely disconnected from Carter and Shayera’s reincarnation cycle since the Justice League story by Scott Snyder in 2019. She has no romantic love for Carter, but she has a close bond with both Carter and Shayera because of the history they share. Kendra is on her own and still discovering where she wants to go for here.

*Fans often talk about Batman’s prep, but in the Golden and Silver age stories, we often saw Carter/Katar preparing for battle and choosing his weapons and strategy for each situation. Hawkman is a seasoned warrior and knows how to prepare for any situation.

*Since its first appearance in 2001, Hawkman’s Claw of Horus has been used sparingly, probably for good reason. It has all sorts of powers and puts Hawkman up there with the heavy hitters of the DCU. He can bring it out when he needs it, it has an affect on other Nth metal around it, has the power to knock Superman around, and also gives the wearer the ability to throw destructive energy beams at an enemy.

*Shayera is one of the fiercest warriors in the DCU, probably more than Hawkman. She actually enjoys the fight and usually jumps in first and asks questions later. Her combat technique is second to none and she was even shown to be an instructor at the Legion Academy in the 40th century.

*Thanagar has a rough terrain, so it is very difficult to grow crops there. It appears that Thanagar did not have wheat, so they did not have bread like we do on Earth. When Katar Hol I came to earth, he fell in love with the simple sandwich and became one of his favorite foods.
