Ever since I started Hawkworld almost ten years ago, I've always used two of the commissions I asked Prentis Rollins to do for me. They are absolutely amazing pictures by Rollins, and I proudly have them displayed on my wall at home. If anyone ever wants a commission, I definitely recommend Rollins! He is a very talented artist and will surely do an amazing piece for you!

 | "Through the Ages" Art series by Nicola Scott |

Over the last few years, I've made a few montages for special occasions. I was inspired by artist Nicola Scott's "Through the Ages" series and decided to try to make one for Hawkman. I'm no artist, so I went through all my comics to find the Hawkman I was looking for to put it together. I made a montage to celebrate Hawkman's 80th anniversary in 2019, and I did the same for Hawkgirl Day in 2021, the 80th anniversary of her first appearance as Hawkgirl. I also did a montage for Robert Venditti's Hawkman series back in 2020. Each work took months and several revisions before I was finally satisfied with the result.

Hawkworld had our 10th anniversary back in January, and I wanted to make a change for the blog's banner, but couldn't quite decide on what to do. About a couple of months ago, I decided to make a montage for the site. There were several attempts before I finally got something I thought represented Hawkworld. Hawkman and Hawkgirl have such a rich history, and there was so much to choose from, but I slowly narrowed it down (it wasn't easy) to what you see today. I knew I wanted Adam Kubert's Hawkman from my all-time favorite Hawkman cover (Hawkman Vol. V No. 46). I also needed to add the current versions of Hawkgirl and Hawkwoman. I set them against a backdrop of Egypt on the left and Thanagar on the right. I tried to keep Earth-based villains and other characters on the left with Hawkgirl (Kendra Saunders) in the center, and then Thanagar-based characters around Hawkwoman (Shayera Hol) on the right. There were other things I wanted to add, like the live-action versions and other villains, but it was just too crowded. I hope you can check it out and see if you can find everything I added.

Hawkman Vol. V No. 46 January 2006 |
I used the amazing art of the following artists: Adam Kubert, Joe Kubert, Marco Castiello, Jorge Jimenez, Sheldon Moldoff, Pat Olliffe, Mikel Janin, Dick Dillin, Joe Bennett, Ivan Reis, Neil Edwards, Howard Chaykin, and Bryan Hitch. Many thanks to the great artists who have given us so much great art over the years.
Hawkman and Hawkgirl have had an amazing history with many characters, locations, weapons, and other items. Many fans often comment on the "confusing" history of Hawkman, but I see an iconic character with a rich history filled with amazing stories. I hope you can enjoy the banner wherever you come to visit Hawkworld!
