A Rock In My Hawkworld Collection

Of all the hundreds of items in my Hawkworld.org Aviary, a plain, ordinary brown rock takes a prominent place in my collection. But it's an extremely special rock.

In June of 2019, my 8-year-old son was outside playing but came rushing back into the house and upstairs to my room.

"Daddy, I found something to put in your Hawkman collection!"

I wondered what in the world could he possibly find while playing outside in a small town in southern Japan. He had something in his hands and proudly showed it to me. It was a rock.

He says, "It's a Hawkman rock! "

I take a look at it and at first glance it's just a plain brown dirty rock. I took a closer look, and sure enough, the rock looked like the Hawkman logo. While my son was playing, he saw something that reminded him of his dad's collection and couldn't wait to give it to me. I cleaned it up, wrote the date on the back, and it now takes a prominent place in my collection.
