Jeremy Adams Talks Hawkman and Hawkwoman

I came across this video today of Jeremy Adams talking comics at the New York Comic Con 2025. He mentioned Hawkman and Hawkwoman a few times so I'll put the comments down below (or you can watch the entire video).

Adams: Issue 12 of Aquaman and the DC K.O. tie-in, he's going to be fighting Hawkman. As everyone knows I've been seeding a lot of Hawk stuff into my books in hopes that DC will please put a Hawk book together (which means no plans at the moment...bummer), so I'me excited about that.

Sean (The Comics Pals): I love the fact that we're getting these fight issues in DC K.O. but how fun is it to write Aquaman vs. Hawkman.

Adams: It's so fun, and Scott Snyder and Josh Williamson are so bananas in how big everything is. It's very infectious so I'm trying to create something that is both a crossover but in continuity is kind of what I like to do. (goes on talking about Aquaman a bit) You're going to see how devastatingly powerful he (Aquaman) is in issue 12.

Sean: And that elemental force of nature is going to go up against Hawkman.

Adams: Yes, Hawkman!

Sean: Good luck, Hawkman.

Adams: Yeah, good luck buddy. (lol)

Sean: But you know Hawkman feels like a character that is on the rise between his film appearance, Hawkwoman got her film appearance, and then Hawkman had a great appearance in Absolute Evil a couple weeks ago. Is the ANY possiblity of some more Hawkman from you in the future?

Adams: Other than this one shot in issue 12? No! But the fanbase of Hawkman is so deep and strong and I'm really just trying to create some groundwork. Because you know, Thanagar was destroyed. There's a god Horus that tells Shayera that I'm going to go find a new world for you and I'll be coming to you in your dreams. So I'm definitely trying to get something that could be bigger for them to do and you'll see some of that in issue 12.

This is all in the first 5:02 of the video so check it out.

Board Thoughts:
No Hawkman comic in the works for now. (bummer)
Looks like Aquaman might bw coming out on top in their battle. It is his comic after all.
So apparently the Hawkwoman-Thanagar story that we last saw in...March?...is actually continuing. Color me surprised and happy.
This left me wondering how much of Venditti's run are they keeping, and how much are they tossing aside?
Happy to know that Jeremy Adams appears to like Hawkman and is wanting to do a Hawkman/Hawkwoman comic. I hope DC is listening.

Sean: Yes.

Adams:
