Hawkman is Perfect for DCU's Justice Gang (Collider Article)

Now that Superman's theatrical run is coming to a close, there are a lot of news and rumors coming out about the next heroes to make their debut in the DCU. Since Hawkgirl was in Superman, it's only natural that some of those rumors would involve Hawkman.

Hawkman did finally make an appearance in the now-defunct DCEU, in the Black Adam movie (2022). While there has been some criticism about the movie, Hawkman's appearance was generally praised and there were talks of Hawkman appearing in another movie or maybe even his own solo project. That is until James Gunn stepped in and put an end to all of it (Thanks a lot!).

Aldis Hodge Has Bad News for Hawkman Return in James Gunn’s DC (Exclusive)

Aldis Hodge did a good job playing the fist Hawkman to hit the silver screen, and he has expressed a willingness to make more appearances in the new DCU if James Gunn wants him. But so far, Gunn has expressed absolutely nothing about Aldis Hodge or even Hawkman in any upcoming projects. To be honest, since the Hawkgirl who appeared in Superman was Kendra Saunders, it would be best to just keep Kendra and Hawkman aka Carter Hall apart. Ever since Geoff Johns and David Goyer brought Kendra and Carter together in the JSA series in 2001, it just hasn't worked. Carter has a soulmate and partner in Shayera Hol, aka Hawkwoman. If they bring back Hawkman, I hope the do it right and keep these two together. Isabela Merced has expressed interest in having Hawkgirl together with Green Lantern (John Stewart). If that makes the DCAU fans from the 2000s Justice League cartoon happy, then have at it. Just keep Carter and Kendra apart.

Coolider put out a recent article about the best heroes to join the Justice Gang, and Hawkman came in at number 2. Anything actually happening would be years away so it's all speculation for now but it's always good to see Hawkman in the conversation.

   Collider quote:

On his own, Hawkman isn't necessarily a perfect fit, but the fact that Hawk Girl is already here makes this a fitting team-up and reunion that would also enhance the Justice Gang, thanks to a powerful new ally. Whether they are on good or bad terms, Hawkman and Hawk Girl would be a dynamic duo that makes this group just a little more interesting.

I don't agree with some things in the article, but Hawkman and Hawkwoman being introduced in the Wonder Woman or The Brave and the Bold movie would be amazing to see. The wait, as usual, continues.
