CBR.com put out an article comparing the Smallville and Arrowverse versions of the DC superheroes. Hawkman made No. 6 on the list and they chose the Smallville version played by Michael Shanks as the better Hawkman. Smaville's Hawkman only appeared in four episodes, while Falk Hentschel's Hawkman appeared in nine episodes (seven Legends, one Arrow, one, Flash).
I'll have to agree with CBR's decision. The storyline, the writing, the costume were all much better than Arrowverse did. In my personal opinion, the writing and the way the show used Hawkman was an insult and left me wishing they had never used Hawkman in their horrid show. Hawkgirl wasn't much better as they had her useless unless she had a man to cling to. Because of their costumes, the Hawks are going to be hard to pull off but hopefully, someday they will receive the proper treatment from writers who know what they are doing.
Falk Hentschel as Hawkman and Ciara Renee as Hawkgirl did a great job with what they were given. I wouldn't mind these two showing up as the Hawks together again someday, as long as the writers of Arrowverse are nowhere near the project.

How a Boy Fell in Awe with Hawkman
It's the end of the day, middle of the night actually, I can't sleep so here I am. You know how you lie awake at night, thinking about the past, remembering things sort of vaguely, when one moment kind of latches on and you start remembering details you forgot about. What is this about? It's about Hawkman, of course!

Hawkman Companion (2008) author Doug Zawisza put out this article on Comicosity almost two years ago. One of the great things about the characters of Hawkman and Hawkgirl is their love for each other. Doug's article goes into detail about their relationship. Definitely an article every Hawkman and Hawkgirl fan should check out! COMIC LOVE: Hawkgirl and Hawkman by Doug Zawisza

A 'Hawk'-eyed Easter Egg: Does Hawkman Appear In 'Justice League'?
Personally, I think this is grasping at straws, but this has been brought up so many times on numerous sites, so it's worth checking out at least. Some fans are saying that it appears that there are what "may be", " but we're not real sure", but "it just might be" Thanagarians flying way, way, waaaaaayyy in the back of a battle scene in the Justice League movie.
"In the above shot, we see an Amazonian leaping into action, while just to the left of their head you can see a little flash of white wings. So what, big deal, and who even are the Thanagarians? Well, when you consider that some of the most famous members of the species include Hawkman and Hawkgirl, this could mean big news for the ranks of the Justice League. While the picture may look like nothing..."So there is is. Check out the Link HERE on the GEEKs site and see the GIF for yourself? What do you think?
"Clearly Justice League will set up the plans for a larger team and a roster that could include Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, and Hawkman. While Hawkman is one of #DC's lesser-known heroes and the studio clearly expanding their film slate, never say never to a Hawkman solo-film. If not, a winged wonder would still make a great addition to any of DC's upcoming #superhero films."
