Interesting convo between you two. I'm wondering if, at some point, the "new" Hawkman in '93 was ever intended to be a truly new character, instead of a 1 and a half issue mystery that turned out to not be mysterious at all. Maybe the additional Native American backstory added to Karar Hol would have been put to better use as a new, separate Hawkman. The powers and Hawk avatar story was definitely interesting and unique, but it just scrambled Katar's origin.
